What an incredibly timely word for me! As I look around and see darkness, you help remind me how often God has used suffering and heartbreak to hollow me out and make space for light and hope and joy- to sweep my heart clean as you have said. I immediately broke out my copy of Fellowship of the Ring and found the passage to share with my family. ❤️

After both of my parents passing within six weeks of each other recently, and a few deep unexpected trials, these words pour over my heart and mind like the balm of Gilead, to soothe and heal my soul. Thank you for opening your heart to us and allowing us to benefit from the fruit of your relationship with Jesus. 💞

Over and over again when I read your words, my heart says, THAT is exactly what I want to say. I think we must have similar temperaments and hearts! Bless you for using the gift God has given you to give others hope, and to help us understand and express what we are feeling and thinking. This is exactly what I needed today. ❤️

I, too, am re-reading LOTR's. I am just behind you in the story. It seemed timely to me, as I struggle with the heartache of brokenness in my own life and the world. Daily, I make time to notice light shining through prisms, exposing stunning color that my eyes cannot see without the bending of the light beam.

Thank you! Gifts to be reminded that “the healer” is always at work! I read the LOTR in 1966 and was given glimpses of Beauty.

"I think it will take awhile. It takes a long while for love to be perfected, for us to be so healed by God’s love that our fear is really cast away."

Sarah, your reflections are to me a reflection of Christ's heart and word for us. Thank you.

"the place of our need becomes the place of our renewal" - such as when we are weak He is strong... beautiful. Thank you for sharing these lovely reflections.
