From the Vicarage is the perfect name for this space. I look forward to all that is to come!

Welcome to Substack! It’s been a great place to “meet” people… maybe especially when the stomach virus precludes anything in person :) Hope you all feel better soon.

I’m sure this will be a warm, welcoming place, Sarah. Delighted to join you here.

A quick question: does substack work much the same as Instagram albeit it with more space to write? I think I thought you had to charge people to subscribe. Not sure how it all works, but I love this idea.

Hope you’re all feeling better and getting some needed rest. ❤️

You do not have to charge people if you choose not to. And even if someone does not have a Substack account, they can still sign up for your posts and they will come as an email.

Thanks, Stephanie. I always feel badly when I don’t sign up for friends’ Substack, but we’re keeping a tight reign on the budget these days.

Very many are free or have a free option. And the writing is often superb!

So thankful for this space already! Your book, This Beautiful Truth, blessed me so incredibly much. It helped me through my own journey with OCD and was key in helping me understand and also in reminding me of my Hope in Jesus. Thank you.

This year, I spent Holy Week in Yosemite Valley for a dear friend’s birthday and surprise engagement, and it was honestly such a refreshing change of scenery. Being in God’s stunning creation was a beautiful way to reflect on his life, death, and resurrection. We even got snowed on in our tents! We made it back in time for Easter Sunday, and I think we may have found ourselves a new tradition.

I have treasured these newsletters for ages - so beautifully expressed and inspiring that I want to go back to them repeatedly and absorb their gentle, peaceful and welcoming atmosphere, and carry it around with me all day! Don't know if I do, but will keep trying. :)

I recently finished printing off copies of many of your newsletters because I find them so encouraging and wanted to be able to come back to them more easily. Having them here on Substack will be brilliant!
