We had a stomach bug sweep our house over Holy Week too, and I was so disappointed as well. Thank you for this beautiful reminder...it's exactly what I needed to hear.
I adore the Joshua Heschel quote, thank you for sharing from the rich treasury of your heart again today. It’s such a wonderful idea to read your letter, I’ll look forward to hearing that. Ah life! I’m so glad you’re all on the mend X
Late to comment (just discovered you!) but wanted to add that I’ve struggled with this thought in just about every fast, especially since becoming a mother: what I plan or desire for Lent, Advent, etc. is not what God has in mind to show me in that season. Allowing Him to lead is such a profound gift. Still, very sorry for your illness and glad to see you’ve all recovered!
Dear Sarah! Your newsletters just became even more delightful, with this personal touch of having you read them to us!

So lovely to hear you read your newsletter, thank you.
And nice to know that you have recovered from the sickness and the disappointment.
Prince of Egypt and The Miracle Maker (my absolute favorite life of Christ film) are both Holy Week staples around here. Thank God for good art!!
